I am cycling since a year across Mexico (started in Cancun, went to Merida, from there through central Mexico to Mex City, GDL and Sayulita, now I am in Mazatlan) - I have 100% great experience with Mexico. This comment is just bullshit and has nothing to do with the love and power that Mexico offers us cylcist.

I traveled since 2011 all around the world (42 countries) and Mexico is one of the most amazing countries that I experienced so far. Come here and feel the love, this comment IS NOT Mexico.

Thanks Ira, that you did not delete it. Well done. I rode from Calexico down Highway 5 which is open but there is some dirt road about 30k. Take warning the dirt is a rough road but you always could hitch a ride someone will pick you up. taking the East Coast down Highway five is a much more desolate road not as many hills as the west side, but it is beautiful it’s a desert! Just pay attention to where you could load up on water. just because there’s a town labeled on the map it does not mean there will be anything there so always carry extra. The drivers were so courteous and friendly they outdid the U.S. At one point my rim fractured in four areas when I started walking my bicycle, cars going each direction stop to help me and within minutes I was well taken care of. I can’t express in this little article how much fun I had on my tour down to La Paz but I know were I will be spending winters to come, and it’s not going to be in the Northwoods of Minnesota it will be in the Baja!!!
Any questions feel free to email me philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12217096856334221570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3455891850043587670.post-79428181738640003732017-03-01T04:27:51.671-08:002017-03-01T04:27:51.671-08:00Yes definitely this type of blogs are really help ...Yes definitely this type of blogs are really help for people great job. Generally, you can find a bike box in any major city where new bikes can be purchased. Calling the bike shop ahead and reserving a box is always a good idea. Its usually free or costs about five bucks. They can probably package it up for you for a few bucks to. After 9/11 the scenario has completely changed. Last year I did Lima, Peru to Santiago, Chile. In Santiago Airport there is a thing called 'Luggage Wrap" or Secure Wrap try: http://www.securewrap.com/services.php?languageid=1
Airlines accept as over sized luggage; AC Air Canada a flat rate of $ 50.00
2 years ago we, my friend and I did ( https://www.facebook.com/India-Jean-Kuldip-Bicycle-Trip-2014-Feb-12-Mar-25-462295030560265/ ) flew from Montreal to Trivanathampuram, South India via AC and Jet Airways.
